Communicating For Quality: In Service Training Modules

How
do we improve the quality of care provided to ESRD beneficiaries?
Perhaps not a question that we ask directly everyday, but a question
that is the foundation of everything we do. One of the answers is
through education and a better understanding and appreciation of not
only the science of what we do, but also the art. However, providing
effective education, whatever the topic, takes time and resources, all
of which are stretched to the breaking point in today’s health care
environment. It’s not that the dialysis unit staff don’t recognize that
training is helpful or don’t have the talent and expertise to develop
in-service programs, but they have a multitude of everyday tasks that
take precedence.
